EDU 323 - Fostering Engagement/Positive Behavior in the Classroom in Urban Grades K-6

3 Credit Hours

This course will include analysis of various laws and policies pertinent to teacher-student interactions each week in the Policy Spotlight. Participants will engage in role play, discourse, and quizzes based on this information. The needs of urban students mirror those of all students in the American society to different degrees. Providing potential teachers with classroom management tools through pre-experiences will increase the likelihood of providing and maintaining effective teachers for generations to come. Clinical field experience hours are part of the course requirements (5 hours).
