EDU 313 - Assessment of Learning in Grades K-6 3 Credit Hours
Students will learn to use formal and informal assessment and evaluation strategies to plan and individualize curriculum and instructional practices in diverse, urban elementary classrooms. The foundations of assessment theory and practice will be presented, including the integration of performance standards for grades K-6, standardized testing requirements, and developmentally appropriate practice for diverse learning needs in urban settings. Students will have opportunities to develop and practice authentic assessment tools and strategies with the goal of using assessment to guide instruction. Clinical field experience hours are part of the course requirements (5 hours).
